Every winter season, the world economic forum has been held in Davos Switzerland since 1971. This year of 2023 event was held in the first time since the pandemic. The town become the forum itself around the event week. Influencers, leaders, and VIPs from the business leaders, politicians, academics, and celebrities are gathered to discuss 10 agendas of the current issues such as energy crisis and Russia-Ukraine, Cyber securities, Nature loss and climate change, to current environment development and humanities upon economic perspective. Upon the agendas and events, a large roadmaps are initiated and strategized up to 2030 by the closing date. There’s more to adapt and challenges ahead onwards. Crossed fingers for this is not only just an another democratic capital system’s “great optimism”.
Since the percipients who are categorized in corporates and “one percent of the wealth” gathered, meantime many environmental activists who see the event as non committal ( eat the rich ) protests in front of the venue. It is an ironic synergy to PR the forum and pay public attention to what is happening with the world alas the constructive actual purpose seems to be less focused.
The host town, Davos is known as snow resort and likely percipients to enjoy the skiing and local culture except this year’s snow in Davos seems less snow thus the climate change is one of the featured elements in this event agenda parallel to “Great Resignation” and ripple effect in human labor resource consequence of the pandemic : Laborers are suffering.
According to the program, they’re featuring DX as the climate change tools to decrease CO2 as one of their agendas. We are all aware that there are human civilizations causing CO2 that leads to climate change. The causes for example is a consumption by the population in terms of industrial fast services.
As an example, there are still many people in the globe who are not aware of this environmental issue, wondering why food ( especially meat, fish, or dairy products ) are to be criticized in this agenda. There’s plenty of news throughout the media these days and the Tik-Tok generation going hype to post on SNS about their provocative protest activities such as to protest to glue them on the street, or attack the world famous artworks at museums. These protest styles are more likely to impact than posting on practical actions like beach cleaning and educating themselves on the environment, ete, ete…which could be said that is an another excuse to run around wildly without showing social responsibility. It’s a thin line between. Expressions and actions are various by individual and this reminds how populations mean more consumption and modern faster services and cycles like today’s casual “swipe- and-click” services become on hook and the world standard.

As writer myself, ( Round Pattern Design’s ) portfolio is mainly upon the hospitality and real estate business, both industries has a responsibility to emphasize environmental value in development in products : lowering the environmental impact by constantly reducing the negative environmental impact of these properties, such as energy consumption, CO2 emissions, water consumption and the generation of waste materials. Personally, and many of the industry crews would highly agree that ( the Japanese ) Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism needs to go for minimizing and digitalize the legal paper as paperless.
Also especially energy and operation in labor are the current critical agendas after lifting the restrictions and foresee job recessions. There are steady activities for striving proper management of hazardous substances and reduction in their use in terms of energies.
Once again, This year’s forum is a crucial opportunity to reflect and concrete new ideas to execute especially with the ongoing war in energy crisis. There is no more waste time for one’s ego and predatory to excel the climate change process or control one’s market volatility which causes more poverty since there’s still the consequence of Covid in the recovery. We humans have the intelligence and kindness to create a lasting quality lifestyle cycles.
